Let me congratulate all of you for securing a very good education in the best institute!

Please consider focusing on how to enhance your employability? About 30% of engineers are fit for employment according to industry sources.
Some who are lucky can get employment related to what they have studied. It is not static. May have to change your jobs, or learn new things from time to time. Select your subjects carefully which has market value and not because they are simple or tough. Take help of your teachers as well as seniors in college or who might have passed out. Select problems which may enable you to have your own “Start-up”.
Many a times , even though you might have selected a topic for your studies, by the time you are about to pass out, there is better scope in another area. Don’t get attracted by salary or name of the company. Check up whether you have liking for the same. Whether it requires dislocation from your house, family. Are you prepared to rough out these requirements. Many may feel attracted to go abroad for further studies or for work. Consider a situation where you are on your own, who would support you in case of any emergency. In case you have to be evacuated, whether you have enough funds, contacts. Many times, person who may advise to come to that country, may not be reliable. Check his motives. Do you have passport which is valid ? May have to do driving . Do you possess international driving licence and confidence to drive in another country? Do not part from your passport under any circumstances. Always report about your study or work to Indian Mission who are your home abroad.
Work culture : be prepared to work in multi cultural atmosphere. Do not have prejudices against anyone on the basis of sex, colour, religion, language, region. Be prepared to focus on delivery of services in a time limit which is realistic. In case you surmount any difficulties , be transparent and intimate the customer. Also obtain a written acknowledgement from concerned. Advisable to have a form mutually agreed in the beginning with signatures from both sides, when the work cannot progress. Be punctual. Work starts on dot , may not be over on dot.
Have faith in God and spend some time everyday in prayers by yourself. Read scriptures like ज्ञानेश्वरी, भगवद्गीता everyday. If you read one chapter which does not take more than ten minutes , you would be able to face any eventuality in life successfully. भगवद्गीता is time tested method to live life successfully.
Your motto should be कर्मण्येवावधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन । मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भू: माsते सन्गोस्त्वकर्मणि। You have right to work . Don’t be after fruits . Concentrate on process & not on fruit. Avoid tendency to shirk working.
योगस्थ: कुरु कर्माणि सन्गं त्यक्त्वा धनंजय।सिद्ध्यसिद्ध्यो: समो भूत्वा समत्वं योग उच्यते।। Work in a detached manner. Be composed in success as well as failure. That is called practising योग.
In whatever work you start you may succeed . If so , do not feel highly elated about it. For some reason, you do not succeed , don’t feel dejected. Have a dispassionate look at the developments.
Remain in touch with your parents & respect them. The only intention in whatever they may tell you , is your development. If you do not agree , with their advice, you don’t have to talk back to them. They would be happy when you succeed.
शरीरमाद्यं खलु धर्म साधनम्।Develop a habit of doing physical exercises, physical training, yoga, cycling, swimming at least for half an hour everyday .Advisable to play some ball game so that your brain is diverted and thus relaxed to face more complicated challenges during the day.
Develop confidence. Explain your point of view to others properly in a constructive manner. Identify reasons why a particular way of doing things is not proper & suggest new way to do it. Be innovative. Use technological interventions including use of mobile apps. Learn the technique of making app early.
Remember no one is indispensable, you can be easily replaced & someone else can do it . But leave your mark on everything you do so that people remember you for the same.
Be on the look out for opportunities. Be prepared to accept new challenges. Mobility is necessary for progress.
Prepare for competitive examinations right from early days.
All of you are adult. May have registered for voting in elections. Don’t be casual about sex life. As per recent judgment of Madras High Count,when you have had sex, it will be presumed that you are married. Whether formal marriage has taken place or otherwise, it is irrelevant. Other party has all marital rights & if not honoured, you are liable for criminal prosecution. Don’t be casual about opposite sex. Laws are in favour of weaker sex & your career can be in danger for harassment of your friend.
When rains start, most of the birds try to find shelter, but eagle crosses the clouds and flies high!
Overcoming difficulties & achieving success is always sweet. Be successful in any venture you may try!
